COVID-19: Information for Attending Court - Friday 10 September 2021
The New South Wales Bar Association’s consolidated guide to COVID-19-related court arrangements has again been updated in terms of recent developments and includes today's District Court update regarding regional Courts, available here and the Chief Magistrate's Local Court Memorandum no. 22, which replaces all other COVID-19 Memoranda.
Directions contained in Memorandum no. 22 are divided into sections. Firstly, there are directions that apply across the board in all courts. Secondly, there are separate directions for defended hearings which vary according to the court at which the matter is listed. Thirdly, there are other directions relating to small claims, sentence matters, and other particular issues. Memorandum no. 22 is available here.
Members are advised that, although the Bar Association is regularly updating the COVID-19 page of its website as information comes to hand please refer to the latest court resources directly as developments are changing quickly at this time. Do not make any assumptions regarding your case without first doing so. Links to the various court and tribunal pages are provided in the body of the guide.
