2022 Bathurst Lecture

The Commercial Law Section will hold the 2022 Bathurst Lecture in Banco Court on Thursday, 25 August 2022 at 5:15pm* The speaker will be David Gonski AC and the topic is 'Issues Affecting Company Directors in Relation to Cyber Security'.
 
David Gonski AC is one of Australia’s leading business figures, company directors and philanthropists.  He is currently Chancellor of the University of New South Wales, President of the Art Gallery of NSW Trust, Chairman of Barrenjoey Capital Partners and a director of the Lowy Institute.  He has held directorships on a vast number of company, governmental and community boards, including serving as chairman of (among others) ANZ Bank, Sydney Airport, Transfield Holdings, Coca-Cola Amatil, Investec, the Australian Future Fund, the Australian Securities Exchange, the Australia Council for the Arts, NIDA, Film Australia and the Sydney Theatre Company. Before entering the business world he was a solicitor at law firm Freehills, where he worked for almost a decade and became its youngest ever partner at age 25.
 
The Bathurst Lecture is named after the Hon T F Bathurst AC QC, former Chief Justice of New South Wales, and is held each year in the Banco Court on a topic of commercial law. 


This lecture will be held in person. Registration is not required.
