Annual Protective Law update: Significant developments from 2024 of which barristers should be aware.
Irina Hoskinson, Latham Chambers and Daniel Yazdani, 13th Floor, St James Hall will outline the nature of the protective jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of NSW with emphasis on practice in the Protective List. They will discuss the types of persons in need of protection that the protective jurisdiction covers; standing to bring an application; appointment, change and revocation of the appointment of protected estate managers; appeals; and costs in the protective jurisdiction. New caselaw on the topic will also be covered.
This presentation is aimed at the barristers who do not regularly appear in the protective jurisdiction and is designed to introduce the jurisdiction and practice requirements to those unfamiliar with Protective List.
Chaired by Greg McNally SC, 9 Wentworth Chambers
