Criminal Appeals and the Supreme Court (Criminal Appeal) Rules 2021 (NSW)

The New South Wales Bar Association’s Criminal Law Committee cordially invites members to attend a CPD webinar to mark the recent commencement of the Supreme Court (Criminal Appeal) Rules 2021 (NSW) and Practice Note No. SC CCA 1 Court of Criminal Appeal – General.

The new rules, which came into effect on 1 May 2021 and supplant the Criminal Appeal Rules, make significant changes to the practice and procedure of the Court of Criminal Appeal.

To assist members to navigate the new rules, the New South Wales Bar Association will host the following panel of speakers at next week’s online CPD event, which will be chaired by Senior Vice President Gabrielle Bashir SC

  • The Hon Justice Robert Allan Hulme 
  • The Hon Justice Robert Thomas Beech-Jones 
  • Criminal Court of Appeal Registrar, George Galanis
