Family Violence Awareness Training for the Legal Profession

Thursday 20 October 2022

Domestic violence refers to acts of violence that occur within intimate relationships and take place in domestic settings. It includes physical, sexual, emotional and psychological abuse. Family violence is a broader term that refers to violence between family members, as well as violence between intimate partners. This paper focuses on the issue of domestic violence and how it impacts on the legal profession, not just in relation to contested litigation such as in family law, but also within the lawyer’s own workforce.
