How barristers work: Valuing your skills and time

“Be Seen. Be Heard. Be Briefed.”

This panel discussion aims to provide practical tips to barristers about making the most of their skills and time, including on how to develop new practice areas and billing practices. It also seeks to provide suggested ways for barristers to better inform solicitors of their areas of expertise as well as the areas in which they would like to work and accept briefs. The panel draws from a range of different perspectives, including counsel, solicitor and clerk, and will continue the discussion from the June CPD, “In conversation with our clients: Fresh perspectives on equitable briefing”: and from the October workshop, “Barristers’ CVs: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly”. All welcome. The panel discussion will be followed by refreshments, with thanks to LexisNexis.
