International Family Law
In this third session of the International Committee’s series on international practice at the Bar, we will be exploring the international issues and opportunities that arise in the area of family law. Join Michael Kearney SC (Waratah Chambers), Sandrine Alexandre-Hughes (6 St James Hall Chambers) and Catherine Spain (Waratah Chambers) as we discuss the ways in which international legal issues can arise in family law (such as recognition and validity of foreign marriages and divorces; division of property in family law disputes that cross borders; international child abduction issues; international recovery of child support payments), the resources available for dealing with such issues or disputes and the ways in which members of the Bar can become involved in these areas.
