
Sybil Morrison Lecture 2020

The New South Wales Bar Association’s annual Sybil Morrison Lecture will be held via Zoom on 18 August 2020 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
The inaugural Sybil Morrison Lecture was held in 2019 and highlighted the life of Sybil Morrison, the first woman to practise at the NSW Bar.
The 2020 Lecture will honour the life and achievements of Jane Mathews AO, the first woman to be appointed judge in NSW, and will be chaired by the Governor of NSW, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC. Katrina Dawson Award winners, Naomi Wootton and Aleksandra Ilic, will present on the contributions of Jane Mathews AO to the legal profession, to the law and jurisprudence.
This event has been organised by the Association’s Diversity and Equality Committee.
