Exemption from Stamp Duty on barristers' PII

Barristers who have an annual turnover of less than $2 million are exempt from stamp duty on professional indemnity insurance policies. The exemption must be claimed every year. To do so, some PI insurers and brokers have provided the Bar Association with a declaration form to exempt barristers from stamp duty on their premiums. These forms are available on the Bar Association’s website.
