As part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Magistrate’s Memoranda Nos 9 and 10 provided for lodgement of certain applications (including applications pursuant to section 32 of the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 ) and sentencing submissions by email with a Police Prosecutor at the same time as it is lodged with the registrar of the applicable Local Court.

To facilitate this, the Police Prosecutions Command has agreed to make available, via the secure member section of the Bar Association's website, a list of email addresses for Police prosecutors at local area commands across the state. This is done so, on the understanding that the list be used by barristers retained in direct access matters, for the purposes of compliance with the Chief Magistrate’s Memoranda as above, and for related purposes.
