Fees for private lawyers doing legal aid work in State law matters to increase from today

The Legal Aid NSW Board has approved an increase in fees in state law matters from today, July 1. The base hourly rate for solicitors will increase from $150 to $160. Other fees such as counsel’s fees will increase by 6.67%. The fee for a gaol visit will increase to $320.
