Bar FC emerges from COVID-19

06/07/2020

With thanks to the organisers of the Domain Soccer League, last Thursday saw Bar FC return to the field in a match up with ACR Athletic.

With wonderful debut performances by Sam Hallahan and Oscar Clark (Junior Clerk from Banco Chambers) the team performed well in a hard fought, quick and skilful game. Unfortunately, our elevation from Division 3 to Division 1 always meant the game would be a tough one and we ultimately walked off exhausted but elated notwithstanding a 2-0 loss.

Some solid performances by the whole team meant we were competitive and had our fair share of chances in the game. Particular mention should be made of Lang’s return to the heart of midfield showing all the pace and guile that has eluded him through injury in 2019. Speaking of guile, the Grosso award for milking a free kick must go to David Patch. The wily old fox hoodwinked no one on the park except the man that matters most, namely the referee, when as Patch said “he laid a hand upon my person” causing him to hit the ground.

Today's team was as follows:

• Angus Lang

• Andy Munro

• Sam Hallahan

• Jeh Coutinho

• Patchaldhino

• Sebastian Hartford Davis

• Richard di Michiel

• Tim Boyle

• Oscar Clark

• Nicole Compton

• Ivan Griscti

• Jon Tsang

• John Harris (GK)

• Geoff O’Shea

• Hugh Morrison

This week's game is to be played on Thursday 9 July 2020 at 1.15 pm. All supporters of the beautiful game are welcome.
