Chief Magistrates Memorandum No 14 - COVID-19 Arrangements

The Chief Magistrate has today issued Memorandum No 14 - COVID-19 Arrangements.

The purpose of the memorandum is to restate the expectations of the Local Court of NSW in relation to remote appearances and physical appearances so that overcrowding on court premises can be reduced. This has been a particular problem affecting the operations of the Local Court at Burwood.

Legal Practitioners are requested to re-familiarise themselves with the physical appearance requirements set out in paragraphs 10-13 of Chief Magistrates Memorandum No 13 - COVID-19 Arrangements, which was published on 1 July 2020.
