Bar FC defeated 3-0 by Schroders FC

This week was a little like Groundhog Day. Bar FC (median age 40) were up against a somewhat physical, faster and younger team (median age 30), What a difference ten years makes!

Without doubt the Sir Alex award for player of the match was won by the midfield maestro, Sebastian Hartford Davis. A special thanks to Patch Jnr who stepped in at short notice and assited Hartford Davis in the midfield.

The Patchaldinho award had a few contenders. Patch for doing his knee in a pre-game training session, Lo Surdo SC for some dubious calls (“he got the ball” is little consolation when your legs are taken out by the opposing player) and Philips for passing the ball to the opposition striker some twenty metres from goal. The winner however was Di Michiel who missed the goal completely with only the keeper to beat and followed that attempt by passing the ball gently to the favoured right hand of the opposition keeper. Harris was heard to say Di Michiel was showing the kind of form he had observed for years.

Next week sees Bar FC play again on Thursday 20 August 2020.
