Bar FC valiant in defeat 3-1

Wellbeing
Yesterday saw Bar FC take on the top of the table team, ACR Athletic. Things looked onerous for Bar FC when ACR Athletic turned up 30 minutes pre-kick off, for a vigorous pre-match training session.
There was a strong performance from the Bar FC backs, with an inspired game from our sweeper Larish, ably supported by Grey and Griscti. Harris was strong in goals and without some great saves from him the score would have been much higher than the 3 to nil first half result in favour of ACR Athletic.
Bar FC came out very strong in the second half, and our debut player Oakes, who proved to be lightning fast up forward, kicked a great goal in the opening minutes for Bar FC, somehow weaving through an ACR Athletic strong defensive line. Coutinho dominated the midfield and had a number of shots at goal, as did Morrison (O’Shea having a shot as well). Compton, Olson and Cook were solid in the midfield.
Bar FC kept ARC Athletic scoreless in the second half, which was a great Bar FC effort. We can rightly claim that we won the second half, despite losing the game overall with a score of 3-1 in favour of ACR Athletic.
Today’s team was as follows:
David Larish (C)
Nicholas Olson
Alistair Oakes
Joel Cook
Jeh Coutinho
Simon Grey
Ivan Griscti
John Harris (GK)
Geoff O’Shea
Hugh Morrison
Nicole Compton
