Supplementary Submission on Priorities for the October 2020-21 Budget

The New South Wales Bar Association has made a supplementary submission to Treasury on priorities for the October 2020-21 Budget. The Association’s recommendations include properly funding and resourcing Legal Aid, legal assistance providers, family violence service providers and the family law system at all times to ensure these essential services possess the resilience and agility to respond to increased legal need in times of crisis, like the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Association also recommended that the Commonwealth Government urgently respond to, fund and implement the recommendations of the Australian Law Reform Commission’s Pathways to Justice Report. The Association’s submission is available here.
