Date Change: Advocacy in the Court of Criminal Appeal - now tomorrow at 5.15 pm

The "Advocacy in the Court of Criminal Appeal" CPD scheduled for Wednesday 14 October 2020, has been brought forward to tomorrow, Tuesday 13 October with an increased capacity. The webinar will be hosted at 5.15 pm - 6.30 pm on Tuesday, 13 October.

If you previously missed out on registering for the seminar, places are now available. Those who have already registered for the webinar will receive an automated date change notification with no further action required.

The interactive webinar presented by the Hon Justice Robert Beech-Jones, Hament Dhanji SC and Sally Dowling SC, and moderated by the Hon Justice Lucy McCallum, will discuss the effective preparation and presentation of appeals to the Court of Criminal Appeal.

Our panel of experienced appeal judges and experienced appellate Senior Counsel will discuss perspectives from the Bar and Bench on:

  • Mastering an appellate brief
  • Drafting grounds of appeal
  • Preparation of written submissions
  • Preparation and presentation of oral argument
  • Perspectives from the Bench on advocacy and what appellate judges find most helpful (and unhelpful) from Counsel arguing appeals
