Bar FC steam into the Grand Final

22/10/2020

In a well fought match, Bar FC beat Greenbridge FC 3-2 in the Domain Soccer Competition today to progress to next week's Grand Final.

Despite the absence of Sir Alex at kick off (who received the Patchaldinho award for missing the start due to pressing chambers work), Bar FC took the early lead 1-0 after a well hit strike by Coutinho. It looked promising then as Bar FC found the back of the net again, only to be denied by an off side call from founding member and linesman Lo Surdo SC. At half time, Sir Alex made a few tactical changes and instructed Di Michiel to finish the game by scoring another. Alas, it was not to be so easy.

Greenbridge FC came back with two well scored goals to lead the game 2-1. Sir Alex again responded and threw Munro forward to create a greater attacking force. The tactic worked with Di Michiel shooting well to bring the game level.

Extra time followed with the promise of an early shower with a golden goal. Tsang playing up front duly obliged to see Bar FC through.

A great team effort today with Coutinho winning the player of the match.

The grand final will be played against Schroders FC next Wednesday 28 October 2020 at 12.00 noon. All supporters are of course welcome.
