The Border Closures Case: What does s 92 mean now? - Online Seminar 5.15pm, Wednesday 7 April 2021

Please join us for an upcoming online seminar on s 92 of the Constitution, hosted by the Queensland Chapter of the Australian Association of Constitutional Law in partnership with the Bar Association of Queensland.
The speakers at the online seminar are Jeremy Kirk SC, Eleven Wentworth Chambers and Shipra Chordia, New Chambers. The Chair for the event is Sandy Thompson QC, Solicitor-General for Queensland.
The seminar will consider the High Court’s recent decision in Palmer v Western Australia. Each speaker is uniquely placed to offer insights into what this decision means for the absolute freedom of trade, commerce and intercourse, which s 92 protects. The reasons of the judges in Palmer refer extensively to the writings of both Jeremy and Shipra.
