The Commercial Law Section will hold the 2021 Bathurst lecture, named in honour of the Hon T F Bathurst AC, Chief Justice of NSW, on Thursday, 22 April 2021, at 5:15 pm.
The speaker will be the Hon Justice Mark Leeming, a judge of the New South Wales Court of Appeal since 2013. Justice Leeming is the author of several books, including Resolving Conflicts of Laws, Authority to Decide: The Law of Jurisdiction in Australia (in its second edition) and The Statutory Foundations of Negligence; an editor of leading practitioner texts Jacobs’ Law of Trusts and Equity: Doctrines and Remedies; and has written countless articles on aspects of commercial and public law and legal history.
Justice Leeming’s topic is “The Enduring Qualities of Commercial Law”.
Members are invited to attend in person at Banco Court or remotely via live stream. Attendance will be run by registration only with in-person tickets strictly limited. In-person places will be allocated on a first-in best-dressed basis. Those wishing to attend virtually via AVL are also required to register.
