Indigenous Injustice: the Myall Creek Massacre and its aftermath, 5 May 5pm via YouTube

29/04/2021

On 5 May at 5pm a web event will be held via YouTube regarding the Myall Creek Massacre and its aftermath.

The event will be hosted by Michael Herring (General Counsel, Macquarie Group) with introductory comments from the Chief Justice of NSW, the Honourable TF Bathurst AC, and a lecture from Mark Tedeschi AM QC (author of Murder at Myall Creek).

Murder at Myall Creek explores the efforts of John Plunkett (Solicitor General and Attorney General of NSW from 1832 to 1856) in prosecuting one of the most shocking massacres in Australia's legal history, establishing him as one of the earliest champions of civil rights in Australia’s legal history.
