Bar FC unlucky against Pendal FC
19/05/2021
Bar FC had a close match on Wednesday 19 May in the Domain Soccer League against Pendal FC. Pendal FC were only one point above us on the table and Bar FC was keen to progress up the ladder to take Pendal FC’s fourth spot.
Canceri opened the scoring for Bar FC at the 13 minute mark with a powerful shot over the keepers head. This was after a determined Bar FC defence from Fredericks, D’Arville, Tsang and Griscti kept the opposition from scoring at a very hotly contested start to the match which saw Bar FC denying Pendal FC an early goal. Canceri was unlucky to miss with his second goal attempt at the 15 minute mark (as was Di Michiel with his shot at goals). The end of the first half saw Bar FC in the lead 1-0.
Pendal FC came out strongly in the second half, which tested our midfield with Kane, Munro, Clark and Coutinho up to the challenge. At the seven minute mark Pendal FC gets its first goal, right in the corner of the nets, despite a valiant attempt by Philips to try and save it. Then Clark for Bar FC takes the ball down to the oppositions end of the park and has a great shot at goal, narrowly missing. Bar FC is back on defence and with a great save by Philips at the ten minute mark, it keeps the score 1-1. At the 14 minute mark the inevitable happens, with Pendal FC scoring their second goal. D’Arville prevents Pendal FC scoring their third goal one minute later.
Full time result was a narrow loss for Bar FC at 2-1.
