Call for tighter reigns on powers in an emergency

The President of the Law Council of Australia has today issued a Media Statement saying the Law Council of Australia agrees with the key recommendation of the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee to give the Commonwealth Parliament stronger control over the exercise of extraordinary powers under the National Emergency Declaration Act 2000 (Cth).
