Tomorrow: Forbes Society Plunkett Lecture

The Forbes Society is pleased to inform members of the Bar Association about new events including the 2024 Plunkett Lecture and 2024 joint presentation with the Ngara Yura Committee.

On Tuesday 10 September 2024, Dr Jeff Kildea will present the 2024 Plunkett Lecture, "Liberty not Licence: The law's response to the challenges of ethno-religious sectarianism in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Australia”. The lecture will be chaired by the Attorney General, the Hon Michael Daley MP, in Banco Court, 5:15 for 5:30pm.

On 5 November 2024 the annual joint presentation with the Ngara Yura Committee will be a panel discussion exploring the history and personalities of the District Court’s Walama List.
