Establishment of Clerks Working Group – Call for applications

The Bar Association recently resolved to establish a Clerks Working Group and invites applications from clerks to join.

The purpose of the Working Group is to:

a) provide advice, insight and support to clerks, chambers, the Association, Executive, Bar Council and its committees on matters relevant to the work of barristers’ clerks and chambers staff; and

b) to promote effective and ethical chambers management in the interests of the Bar and the administration of justice.

Up to 7 clerk members will be appointed by the President and will aim to reflect a range of chambers sizes, locations, practice areas and levels of seniority among clerks.

Any clerks interested in applying to be a member of the Working Group should email dboyce@nswbar.asn.au with a short statement setting out their background and why they wish to be a member. Applications should be made by 28 August 2025.
