Vale: Geoffrey Frank Tattersall KC (1947–2025)

Geoffrey Frank Tattersall KC passed away on 5 January 2025, aged 77. He was first called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in the UK in 1970, taking silk in 1992. He commenced at the New South Wales Bar on 30 July 1992 and became Senior Counsel in 1995. In 1997 he was appointed as Judge of Appeal in the Isle of Man, a role which he held for 20 years, and in 2003 was made a deputy High Court judge of the Queen's Bench Division. He also made a significant contribution to the Church of England, as Chancellor of several Dioceses, a member of the Court of Arches and a longstanding member of General Synod. On his frequent visits to Sydney, he would invariably visit the Bar Association's office to meet with his good friend Philip Selth OAM, Executive Director of the Bar Association from 1997 to 2016. He is survived by his wife Hazel, his partner of over 50 years, and his three children, Mark, Victoria and Hannah.
