2025 Ngalaya First Nations Lawyer of the Year

On Friday 29 August 2025, Crown Prosecutor Damian Beaufils was named the 2025 First Nations Lawyer of the Year at the Ngalaya Ball and First Nations Law Awards. Mr Beaufils joined Crown Chambers in 2021 after five years at the private Bar. He is the Deputy Chair of the NSW Bar Association’s First Nations Committee, where he works to create opportunities for more First Nations lawyers and law students to pursue careers at the Bar, and engages in advocacy on policy issues which disproportionately impact First Nations peoples.
