Nominations have closed for 2026 Bar Council Election

Nominations for the 2026 Bar Council Election closed at 4:00pm Monday, 20 October 2025.

Nominations have been received from 17 Senior Counsel and 46 members of the Junior Bar (including 12 under 5s).

If any eligible member submitted a nomination but did not receive an acknowledgement, please contact the Bar Association by emailing elections@nswbar.asn.au.

The 2026 Bar Council Election will be a hybrid model which will allow members, at their choosing, to vote either via the Association’s online election platform or by using a paper ballot which will be posted to all members.

The ballot opens Monday 27 October 2025.
