Peteris Ginters Day
07/11/2025
Professor Dominic Rowe, a brilliant neurologist who heads Macquarie University’s world leading Motor Neuron Disease Centre, calls MND ‘a brute of a disease’. In 2020, it took the life of Peteris Ginters, a much loved and admired member of the New South Wales Bar. He was only 48. For many years, his family, friends, and his many colleagues at the Bar, together with judges, members of industrial tribunals and solicitors have marked Peteris Ginters Day. On 7 November each year, to honour Peteris, and to play our part in the fight against MND, we have donated our fees for the day, or other suitable amount, to the Foundation that supports Professor Rowe’s work in identifying the causes of MND, and in searching for treatments. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised in this way, all urgently needed. If you would like to participate in Peteris Ginters Day this year, you can do so by donating here. Remember to choose “Professor Dominic Rowe” when donating.
