Hugh Marshall SC, who practised until recently from Jack Shand Chambers, died on 26 November 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Hugh was called to the Bar in 1983 and took silk in 2003. His colleagues will remember him as a gifted advocate with enormous charm and a quick, sometimes irreverent, wit.

Hugh will not be forgotten and will be greatly missed by his colleagues.

He is survived by his loving wife Emily, his children Ella and Max, and his stepchildren Lachlan, Alastair and Hamish.
