International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Diversity

Today is the annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities, as proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly. The theme for 2024 is “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future”.

The NSW Bar Association is committed to improving and supporting diversity at the Bar to represent and support the society it serves, and is proud to promote equality of opportunity in the practise of law regardless of disability, gender, age, class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion.

The Association’s Accessibility Panel and Advocate for Change, Sean Docker SC, support the promotion of an inclusive profession and are committed to improving accessibility to the justice system for persons with disabilities.
