Diversity
Today is Makha Bucha (also known as Magha Puja and Sangha Day), a Buddhist Festival celebrated in many Southeast Asia countries, including Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar on the full moon day of the third lunar month.
The day commemorates the Buddha's teachings to a spontaneous gathering of 1250 holy men (arahants) and presents an opportunity for Buddhists to reaffirm their commitment to their religious practices and traditions.
Celebrations vary but often include meditation, lighting of oil lamps and exchanging gifts.
