Chambers for Sale: H.B. Higgins Chambers

Following an appointment, a well-equipped room suiting an established junior barrister is available for sale at HB Higgins Chambers at Level 6, 82 Elizabeth Street which is less than 100 metres from the Supreme and Federal Courts.
The successful purchaser would be vested with 7.45% of the shares in HB Higgins Pty Ltd which has owned the unencumbered floor since the mid 1990’s. The building at 82 Elizabeth Street is held pursuant to a strata scheme. This means there is no lease arrangement nor is there the prospect of having to move on the whim of a landlord.
The room measures approximately 10.4 square metres, it is equipped with a robing cupboard, shelving and cupboard space with the sale price comprising shares in the company that owns the strata title. A successful purchaser will also be entitled to voting rights in respect of all floor business.
Chambers’ floor fees are currently $2970 + GST per month plus disbursements in addition to property fees of $576.69 + GST per month to cover strata outgoings.
The predominant areas of practice on the floor are Employment/Industrial, Work Health & Safety, Criminal, Family and Administrative Law although a broad range of work is undertaken by members of the floor.
HB Higgins Chambers is a small but harmonious floor with both senior and junior counsel. The floor is well established and has previously, and as recently as last year had members appointed to a number of tribunals and superior courts.
