Important message from the Bar Library

07/03/2025

The Bar Library has today switched over our Library and Research Management Systems to a new provider. The difference users will notice from Monday should be minimal, with the exception of the Bar Library website which has made some small but significant changes. The contents (hard copy and electronic) of the catalogue are now accessible directly via a search option on the home page and links to our subscribed databases are also present on the left side of the home page. Many of the other features of the old Bar Library site have been removed and the Librarians will progressively replace those that have retained their utility. Many pages that existed in the past are superfluous with the ease of access now provided from the home page and will not be restored. Notably, there is no longer a form with which to place requests via the website to the Library. This will be restored but for the meantime, requesters should simply email requests to the usual address libref@nswbar.asn.au

Your username and password to access the Bar Library website is unchanged.

The Librarians have been working diligently to make this change as smooth as possible but such processes are rarely seamless and we are anticipating the possibility of some imperfect information having crossed over during the transition between systems. If you notice something amiss with your borrowing record or messages you receive from the Library in coming days, please do not assume the worst but simply contact the Library at library@nswbar.asn.au and we will endeavour to rectify any errors that have occurred as quickly as possible.

If you no longer wish to receive In Brief, please notify the Bar Association's
