Tonight: Launch of the updated Equitable Briefing Policy

The Diversity and Equality Committee and the Women Barristers Forum jointly present this CPD on the updated Equitable Briefing Policy.

This online webinar is presented by Kate Eastman AM SC, Anthony McGrath SC (Chair), and Naomi Sharp SC, on Monday, 27 March 2023 at 5.00pm. First published in 2016 by the Law Council of Australia, the Equitable Briefing Policy is intended to drive cultural change within the legal profession, support the progression and retention of women barristers, and address the significant pay gap and underrepresentation of women in the superior courts.

In November 2022, the Law Council updated the Equitable Briefing Policy.

Kate Eastman AM SC will present on the key changes to the updated Policy, the review process that informed these changes and ways in which barristers may adopt the Policy. Anthony McGrath SC, the Association’s Advocate for Change for gender diversity, will chair the session and Naomi Sharp SC will make concluding remarks.
