The Hon. Dr John Kennedy McLaughlin AM, former Master in Equity and retired Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (1992–2010), long time member of 13 Selborne Wentworth Chambers, passed away on 21 March 2023.

His Honour was admitted to the Bar in October 1961. After he retired from the Supreme Court of New South Wales he continued to hold a commission as an Acting Judge of the District Court of New South Wales.

In 2014, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for service to the legal profession.

Across his long career, he was a mentor and friend to many. And above all else, he was a man of great faith. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, integrity, selflessness, and generosity.
