Trans Day of Visibility – 31 March 2023

30/03/2023

Trans Day of Visibility, held annually on 31 March, is a day to celebrate trans pride and raise awareness about trans and gender diverse experiences and achievements.

Trans Day of Visibility was founded by Rachel Crandall Crocker in 2009 as a day to acknowledge and celebrate living members of the transgender community. At that time, the only well-known gender diversity centered day was the Trans Day of Remembrance, a day of mourning.

The NSW Bar Association is committed to supporting a Bar that reflects and is inclusive of the diverse composition of Australian society. The Association’s LGBTQI Principles on Inclusiveness have been developed for the benefit of the Association’s members and their Chambers/Floors.

Further LGBTQI resources, including a language guide on trans and gender inclusion, are available on the Association’s website here.
