Diversity

Today is the 12th Global Accessibility Awareness Day, held annually on the third Thursday of May each year. The purpose of the day is to encourage people to talk, think and learn about digital access and inclusion, particularly for the more than one billion people globally who live with disabilities.

The NSW Bar Association is committed to improving and supporting diversity at the Bar to represent and support the society it serves including people who live and work with disabilities.

For further information about Global Accessibility Awareness Day and how inclusive design and development of digital technologies can assist people with disabilities, please click here. Information about the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), an internationally recognised standard created by the World Wide Web Consortium, is also available here.

The Bar Association uses reviewing tools to improve the WCAG compliance of our website and supports inclusion through the work of the Accessibility Panel. If you have feedback or suggestions for digital technology improvements in our services please contact accessibility@nswbar.asn.au.
