NSW legislation website—NEW print-on-demand functionality
14/01/2020

The NSW Parliamentary Counsel’s Office’s (PCO) has just rolled out a new feature on the NSW legislation website to streamline on-demand ordering and printing of NSW legislation in hard copy. This is the first of the enhanced features and advanced functionality for the website the PCO will be developing and rolling out over the coming years to deliver better access to NSW legislation for users.
While the existing options for printing copies of legislation remain, users can now purchase a professionally printed and bound copy by clicking an icon on the website and placing an order through the dedicated LitSupport (TIMG) online ordering system. LitSupport (TIMG) has experience over a number of years providing on-demand printing for both Queensland and Victorian legislation and is now the preferred supplier for hard copy NSW legislation.
How to purchase printed copies of legislation
All versions of in force and repealed legislation on the NSW legislation website now have an associated delivery van icon located on the blue task bar on each status information page. By clicking on that icon, users will be redirected to the LitSupport (TIMG) website where an order can be placed for the chosen legislation with the option to create an account for future purchases. The system recognises the selected legislation and automatically adds it to a shopping cart, making the ordering process straightforward. The cost, which is based directly on the page count, will also be calculated.
Purchasers can choose the format for the printed copy—A4 or B5 size, hole-punched or not. (Holes can be punched in a configuration that fits the binders formerly produced for storing hard copies of NSW legislation or to fit an A4 two-ring binder.) All titles are printed in black and white unless the title contains coloured graphics (e.g. road signs or maps)—these titles will be automatically printed in colour at a slightly higher cost per page.
Printed copies are posted to the address nominated by the purchaser or, in the Sydney CBD, are delivered by courier free of charge.
The NSW legislation website does not yet have online purchasing functionality for Bills and as made Acts and Statutory Instruments, however copies can be printed on request by contacting the LitSupport (TIMG) service desk directly to enquire (email NSWLegislation@timg.com or phone 02 9210 5920).
