The 2020 BAQ ABA Annual Conference is fast approaching and is looking to be our best event yet, with the whole of profession invited to attend this comprehensive two day legal program. The venue for the conference is the W Hotel Brisbane, conveniently located in the heart of the CBD and close to a range of quality restaurants and bars.

With keynote address from The Hon. Justice Malcolm Wallis of the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa, as well as Patricia Lee Refo, President-elect of the American Bar Association. This conference will cover a diverse range of topics including plenary sessions on Conscience in the law in the 21st century, Regulation of Speech, Criminal Law - Terrorism - Contemporary Perspectives, Appellate Advocacy, Commercial Law and Ethics. In addition to a number of concurrent sessions covering; Freedom of Religion, Wills and Estates, Family Law and Civil Litigation.

The conference also provides plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues with Welcome Drinks on Thursday 5 March, guest speaker Australian Artist Ben Quilty and Conference Dinner on Friday 6 March, which will be held at the nearby Blackbird Restaurant. Guest Speaker at the dinner will be esteemed Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Munjed Al Muderis.
