The National Judicial College of Australia and the Australian National University are holding their annual conference at the Australian National University in Canberra on 29 Feb & 1 Mar 2020. The theme of the conference is Sentencing. This conference brings together members of the judiciary, academics, policy makers and other experts to consider current issues and challenges in sentencing law and practice. The program will examine the way courts and jurisdictions across Australia are dealing with a range of issues including: sentencing practice post the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse, reporting of sentences and hardship factors.
