Practising Certificate Renewals

Bar Association staff are working hard to process every application to renew a practising certificate as quickly and efficiently as possible. To date, over 1500 applications have been processed and those barristers have already received their practising certificates. All applications will be considered by 30 June 2025.

The remaining applications will be considered as soon as possible and contact made with you if there is further information required. Please avoid calling Reception asking for an update on the status of your renewal as this diverts our team from processing applications. If you have a specific issue you need assistance with to make your application or a concern about an application you have already submitted, please send an email to certification@nswbar.asn.au and the Association will respond as soon as possible.

Particularly during the Practising Certificate renewals period, barristers and clerks are reminded to ensure their communications with Association staff are always respectful and courteous. Bar Association staff are managing a large volume of calls and emails at this time and are doing their best to support the Bar.
