National NAIDOC Week 2025 – Celebrating 50 years: 6 – 13 July 2025
04/07/2025

Next week is NAIDOC Week, which presents an opportunity for all Australians to learn about and celebrate First Nations cultures, histories and achievements. 2025 marks an especially powerful milestone: 50 years of NAIDOC, elevating First Nations voices, culture, resistance and resilience. The NAIDOC journey began as a movement for recognition and rights, sparked by First Nations communities who saw a future built on justice and equality. Over the decades, it has grown into a powerful national celebration, a testament to the enduring strength of First Nations peoples.
This year’s theme is “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, which celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of young First Nations leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of ancestors. NAIDOC Week 2025 celebrates not just a milestone but a movement that endures, grows, and evolves—driven by the unwavering strength of communities, the shared vision of First Nations people, and the enduring legacy that will be passed on to those who will shape the future.
