Today: Bar Book Club

07/10/2025

The Bar Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month. October's book is Down in the Valley by Paolo Cognetti, an English translation of an Italian novel about the reunion of two brothers following the death of their father and what ensues.

The details: Tuesday, 7 October 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the conference room at Martin Place Chambers (Level 32, 52 Martin Place, Sydney). Light refreshments will be provided.

If you’d like to get a head start on November’s book, we will be reading Is a River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane. It is a non-fiction book that The Guardian describes as an 'impassioned book [that] shows the way' to save rivers as living beings. It can be expected to be beautifully and lyrically written given the author.

No need to RSVP, but contact Michelle Painter SC (mpainter@selbornechambers.com.au) or Janet McKelvey (mckelvey@mpchambers.net.au) for any further details.
