RACS training session on judicial review of Immigration Assessment Authority decisions, 1 May, 5.30pm

The Refugee Advice and Case Work Service (RACS) is pleased to announce that Nicholas Poynder of Frederick Jordan Chambers will be running a training session for barristers and instructing solicitors on Part 7AA of the Migration Act 1958 and judicial review of Immigration Assessment Authority (‘IAA’) decisions.

The IAA reviews decisions of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection refusing to grant protection visas to certain people seeking asylum who arrived in Australia as unauthorised maritime arrivals.

Any counsel currently participating in RACS’ Judicial Review Referral Service (J4R), or any who would like to become involved, are cordially invited to attend. Allens has kindly agreed to host the training session. Details are as follows:
