Bar FC narrowly defeated by FactSet Athletico FC 1-0

Today saw a hotly contested game with Bar FC being heavily on the attack, with several great goal attempts from Di Michiel and Bolger. The Bar FC midfielders of Rico, Hartford Davis and Jedrzejczyk combined well to keep the ball moving regularly up to our forwards, despite strong opposition. Of particular note was Hartford Davis’s perfectly timed cross right on the goal line, to Di Michiel for a brilliant header, with the header just missing the goals.

In defence, Harris saved some spectacular goal attempts, putting his body on the line on numerous occasions. Fredericks came from nowhere and did a brilliant header to save a certain goal. Boyle, d’Arville and Griscti were also strong in the defensive line.

The score was nil all at half time, and it looked like we had the measure of the other team, with our first win of the season in sight, only to lose in the last five minutes when FactSet Athletico slipped a goal through. The final score was 1 to nil.

Hard to pick a player of the match, given the contribution made by all.
