In February this year, the Australian Tax Office created an online platform called 'Let's Talk: Legal Practitioners Community' to share knowledge and information with the legal profession. Two new consultations have been added for legal practitioners to discuss and comment on: the impacts of the ATO's use of garnishees and freezing orders to collect debts; and some draft Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to ask when contacting the ATO to discuss a client's tax debts. Members can register at any time to join the community.
