ALRC review of the Family Law System

Commonwealth Attorney-General George Brandis yesterday announced that the Australian Law Reform Commission would undertake a comprehensive review of the family law system and that he had appointed Professor Helen Rhoades as full-time commissioner to lead the review. In response, the Law Council strongly welcomed the review but said that lasting reform will require significant court and legal assistance funding.
