The Australian Government has today released the 2016 Review of Commonwealth Legal Services Report. The association is currently reviewing the report and is considering putting submissions in response to the review. The report indicates, among other things, that Australian Government in-house lawyers briefed the bar direct in 58 per cent of matters involving counsel in 2014-15.
