Legal Aid NSW review of fees paid
21/03/2018

Legal Aid NSW is undertaking a review of fees paid to practitioners in legally aided matters. Members of the Bar Association are invited to a focus group to discuss issues with the current fee scales and options for change. The details of the focus groups are:
Monday 16 April: 3.30pm to 5.00pm, Parramatta Justice Precinct offices [report to Security on the ground floor]
Tuesday 17 April: 3.30pm to 5.00pm, Legal Aid NSW, Level 12, 323 Castlereagh Street, Sydney [take high rise lift to level 12]
There is an option to attend via webcast for the Sydney focus group.
Please note that the focus groups will be looking broadly at fees in family and criminal law but will not be looking at the specific issues of fees for the new committals processes (post 30 April 2018) or fees for counsel briefed in criminal trials, as these criminal law fees are the subject of separate consultation processes.
To register for one of the sessions, please log in to the Learning Management System using your Grants Online credentials. Once logged in, you can find the focus groups either via the Courses Calendar or by searching "focus group".
